The latest game changing 2015 fuel economy rules are shaking the whole auto markets because now the auto developers are forced to place high-stakes bet on the latest technologies in order to make their vehicles up to the mark. The average announced for the 2015 fleet of cars is 35.5 mpg and the current status is 27.5 for cars and 23.1 mpg for the light trucks, thus they have forced the automakers to implement latest and higher technologies in their cars so that the fantastic level of technological advancement can be attained.

According to Nizar Trigui, director of vehicle energy management engineering for Ford Motor Co. “Technology is not generic, It is very specific for the different segments” in the past the automakers were very habitual of stripping down the econoboxes to balance the big trucks but now the more small cars they sell the faster their CAFÉ number rises. From such enhancement of technology the price tag for even the small cars will rise but as the capabilities will be improved the customers will not hesitate to pay that price as according to Honda’s Bienenfeld “Technology costs money“.
