This year the North American international auto show (NAIAS) in Detroit, this is also called as the Detroit auto show has given Ford Fusion hybrid the award of top cars honors and the versatile Transit Connect compact van also got the award of snagged truck of the year award.

This was happening for the third time in the 17 years history of this show that some auto making company has got both of the titles. The selection was made by 49 auto journalists and these awards are given since 1994.

The ford’s official showed their deep pleasure after getting the titles/awards and while talking to the media Mark Fields, Ford’s president of the Americas said that “It’s such a huge motivator for our team” and he further added “It’s a reaffirmation of all the hard work over the past couple of years”.

The main focuses on which the judgment is based are the vehicle’s innovation, design, safety, handling, driver satisfaction and value and by winning this award Ford has showed that their cars are a blend of all these things. Last year the winners were the Hyundai Genesis luxury sedan and the Ford F-150 pickup but this year Ford has achieved both the titles through consistent hard work and by bringing new technologies into the production of cars.
