What do you get when you utter the words power and beauty in a car which was made between 1964 to 1973? A classic muscle car is what you get. The rise and fall of the classic muscle cars is an exciting story which has been lost in the halls of fame of the world’s favorite cars. The 1949 Oldsmobile Rocket 88 is considered to be the first of its kind, after which followed the classic range of favorites which included the Dodge Charger, the Plymouth Road Runner, and the Chevrolet El Camino. The youth began to take interest on seeing a high performance engine in a very light body. Performance and power  was what it delivered thus engraving it’s name during that time.

It is considered that the period during which muscle cars were produced was one of the best sales period for the American automobile industry. Driving, street racing, drag racing and an accessory which was worth the money for the people, these were what made the muscle cars for sale go sky-high. The concept of the muscle car is installing a huge engine in a normal sized car thus taking it away from the area of normalcy into the era of America’s favorite car.

Although classic muscle cars were a trend during that time, there were a number of controversies regarding the safety of the car and whether it was wise to continue building such beasts, due to the dangers of racing. Yet, even after years since it’s downfall car manufacturers all over the world are trying to bring back the classic muscle car with added features thanks to technology. Even if they might not be able to bring back an era, they might just manage to help create a piece of history yet again.
